yep, i love it when we start talking about destiny around here! Yesterday, Matt told the church how the Lord showed him a broad space that he was in. This space was big, but the entrance to come to the next level in God was a small gate, and the gate actually hinged on the things that do not seem significant and are not always that fun.
We looked at David's life for a little. First of all, his father didn't even call him in from the sheep when the prophet came... then, after he was already anointed the king of Israel, he was given the job to serve Saul, the evil man that was ruling instead of him! And David actaully silenced the demon that tortured Saul! Then, God promoted him by taking him into the wilderness, to lead a group of thugs. David ended up turning these men into such mighty men that 1 of them was worth 300 to a 1,000 of the enemy! And David ended up being the greatest king of Israel... that's powerful! Crazy to think how God uses stuff like serving and discipling people that are losers, to actually bring us into our destiny! We also looked at Joshua and how he wanted the presence of God more than the recognition of man! good stuff.
Next weekend, the church is going to New York for a leadership conference with Word of Grace, so that's really exciting! Our team will be leading worship. It'll be a wonderful time in God's presence and with other people of God! Matt's heading to New York at the beginning of the week to rest and just be with the Father so let's remember to pray for him! Friday night we're having another youth night... the last one was a blast! Park ministry has started again on Saturday nights in Morell Park... and children's church is getting going as well! ...and to borrow Neidi's phrase... the best is yet to come! :)
